The other day, someone posted a notice mentioning that if you use
GoodSearch as your search engine, they donate money to your favorite charity. I
decided to try it. In doing so, I checked out the stats. It works this way --
they use Yahoo as their search engine and for each search you do through
GoodSearch, it earns about one cent for your favorite charity. If 1000 people
do 2 searches a day for a year, about $7,300 is earned for that charity.
Both CCHR Int (Citizens Commission on Human Rights International) and CCHR LA (Citizens Commission on Human Rights Los Angeles) are on their list.
All you have to do is go to www.GoodSearch.com, then copy and paste the phrase "Citizens Commission on Human Rights international" or "Citizens Commission on Human Rights Los Angeles" into the line "Who Do You GoodSearch For", then click Verify. Try and see if your local CCHR is on their list, but if yours isn't there, go for CCHR Int or CCHR LA, who are going great guns at busting psychs right now.
Then, when you would normally use Google or Yahoo or whoever, you just click on your GoodSearch favorites page and use them instead. If 20,000 searches were done in a year for CCHR, it would create $73,000, which would be a great help to the anti-psych campaign.
It is so simple, takes no extra time at all and costs you
nothing. There are about 1000's of visitors on this site. If we all did it
and got 10 friends to do it too, we could make it
happen with virtually no effort at all. And that's with only 2 searches a day.
For those of us who do more than that, we can help hit the $100,000 mark in the
next year. The site also shows you how much has been made for the charity so we
can keep track of the stats.
